Customer support for pet supplement brands
Answers your customers' product questions from your own store, and never tells anyone whether a supplement suits their dog's condition.
Hope AI is a chatbot for Shopify supplement brands. It answers product, delivery and subscription questions from your own pages, and it won't give health advice. It will tell a customer what's in a supplement and what your label says about using it. Whether that supplement is right for their dog or cat is a question for a vet, and that's where it sends them.
The line it won't cross
Supplement customers ask health questions all the time. "Will this help my dog's itching?" "Can I give it alongside her medication?" "Is it safe in pregnancy?"
Hope AI never gives veterinary, medical or dietary advice, and it never says whether a product suits a particular animal's condition, allergy, medication, age or pregnancy. That still applies when your product page makes a general claim. A general line on a product page is one thing. Telling a worried owner what suits the animal in front of them is something else.
When a health question comes in, the bot declines and suggests they speak to their vet, then offers your contact details. It can still quote the ingredients, the label's serving information or the size of the tub. It just won't interpret any of that for one particular animal.
This rule is added to every store's bot, so you aren't relying on a general-purpose chatbot to behave itself. There's more on why it matters in handling "is this safe for my dog" questions.
Everything else they ask
The rest are easier, because the answers are already on your pages:
- The ingredient list, the form it comes in (powder, chew, liquid) and what the label says about each ingredient.
- The serving information you've published, quoted as written.
- Dispatch times, shipping costs and where you send to.
- How repeat orders work, and how to skip, pause or cancel under your policy.
- What you accept back, particularly opened products.
It answers from your product descriptions, FAQ and shipping and returns policies, and it quotes things like the returns window and dispatch days exactly. When it doesn't know, it says so and points the customer to your email or contact page. You get an email with the question, so you can see where your pages need tightening up.
Setup, and the one thing it can't check
I build it from your FAQ, policies and full catalogue, usually within a day, and you see it working on a private demo page before you pay. It can't see orders, though. A customer chasing a parcel gets your shipping policy and your contact details, and you take it from there.
The pricing page and the FAQ have the details. If you're comparing options, read Hope AI and Shopify Inbox, or see the page for food and treat brands.
See it on your own store
