Customer support for pet accessory and apparel brands

Sizing, fit, delivery and returns: the questions that fill your inbox, answered from your own size guides and policies.

Hope AI is a chatbot for Shopify accessory and apparel brands. It answers sizing, fit, material, delivery and returns questions from your own size guides and policies, and it quotes your measurements and returns terms exactly. If it doesn't know something, it tells the customer and points them to your contact details.

Most of it is sizing

If you sell collars, harnesses, coats, beds or bags, most of your messages are people trying to get the right one. "Which size for a 40cm neck?" "What's the difference between medium and large?" "Will this fit a whippet?"

The bot answers from your size chart, and it gives customers your own measuring guide, so they know how to measure neck, chest and length and where to put the tape. Breed questions depend on your pages. If you list breed guidance, it quotes it. If you don't, it sends the customer to your size chart and your contact page.

It won't make up a measurement or invent a fit. It can't see the dog either, so it won't pick a size for someone beyond what your guide says.

The other questions

After sizing, people ask what a product is made from, including things like hardware or lining where you've listed them. They ask how to wash it, and it gives your care instructions as written. They ask about delivery timings and costs and which countries you ship to.

Then there are returns. Usually that's what happens if the size is wrong, who pays postage, how long the window is, and whether personalised items can go back. It quotes your exchange window and postage rules exactly.

Pet health and safety

Hope AI never gives veterinary, medical or dietary advice, and it never says whether a product suits a particular animal's condition, age or pregnancy. Say someone asks whether a harness is right for a dog with a back problem, or a coat for an elderly dog. It won't offer a view, even if a product page makes a general claim. It suggests asking a vet and offers your contact details, and it can still quote plain facts like sizes, materials and measurements. There's more in handling "is this safe for my dog" questions.

Orders, and how it's built

It can't open someone's order to see where it is, because it has no access to your Shopify order data. It shares your shipping policy and contact details instead. When it can't answer something, it points the customer to your email or contact page and you get an email with the question, so you can add the answer to your pages.

I build it from your FAQ, size guides, shipping and returns policies and full catalogue, usually within a day. The pricing page and the FAQ have the rest. If you're comparing it with the free option, read Hope AI and Shopify Inbox, and if you sell food or supplements too, see food and treat brands and supplement brands.
