Hope AI vs Tidio

Tidio is a popular do-it-yourself chat tool with an AI agent called Lyro. For a small pet brand, the main question is whether you want to set it up yourself.

Tidio is a do-it-yourself chat platform, and its AI agent is called Lyro. If you want to set things up yourself and you need live chat as well, it's a sensible pick. If you'd rather have the assistant built for you and check it on a private demo before you pay, Hope AI is likely the better fit for a pet brand. It's also one flat monthly price, with no per-conversation fees up to 1,000 conversations a month.

The big difference is who does the work

With Tidio, you set it up. Tidio describes that as a few clicks with no technical knowledge needed, and you keep control of every detail. With Hope AI, I do the setup from your FAQ, shipping and returns policies and catalogue, usually within a day. You approve it on a private demo page before you pay the setup fee. Some owners enjoy tinkering with this sort of thing. Others would rather not touch it.

Live chat and order updates

Tidio does more than answer questions. It has live chat, a help desk and flows as part of the platform, so your team can step into a conversation, and Tidio mentions order updates through Smart Actions. Hope AI can't help with orders at all. It has no access to them, so if a customer asks where their parcel is, it explains your shipping policy and gives them your contact details.

Paying per conversation or paying flat

Lyro is usage-based, so you pay for the AI conversations you use. If your volume is low, a small usage-based plan may suit you better. Hope AI is £40 a month and stays £40 up to 1,000 conversations. Above that we'd talk about a bigger plan.

Being a pet brand matters here too. Hope AI never advises on pet health. It turns those questions down, suggests a vet and passes on your contact details.
